NBA Betting Free Picks: Washington @ Denver
Added on Mar 17, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
College and NBA betting opportunities about at sportsbooks on Tuesday, and we’ll take a look at an interconference sports betting matchup between the Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards. Denver is tied for 2nd place in the Western Conference, but is off a Monday night loss at Houston. Washington isn’t a very good team and was dominated by the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City last night.

This looks like a good spot for a contrarian play on the Wizards. Washington was badly outclassed by the Jazz in Salt Lake City and the Wizards have lost 9 of their L10 games. As they head over to Denver–who has one of the best home records in the league–they become an even bigger underdog than they were last night. There’s only one problem–Denver has shown a horrible tendency to play down to the level of their opposition this season. Denver has lost five games at home this year, with 3 of those coming to San Antonio, Phoenix and Dallas–no shame there. The other two losses? Philadelphia and Minnesota. They’re just 17-15 ATS at the Pepsi Center this season and are 9-16 ATS overall this year against teams with losing records. The loss to Houston last night ended a six game SU winning streak for Denver though they were able to finish a 4 game road trip with a 3-1 mark. This is the first game back from the trip and fourth game in five days against an opponent that no one can get motivated against–a very dangerous spot for a team that has shown problems already getting ‘up’ for the league’s bottom feeders. Wiz have some good individual talent–Randy Foye is becoming a competent NBA point guard and Andray Blatchay has been one of the league’s most dangerous power forwards of late. In a strange way, this could be Washington’s best chance for a win–or at the very least a competitive effort–on their current road trip that takes them to Portland and Los Angeles to face the Lakers after this.
