We’ve used the Wizards a few times in recent weeks and despite all logical reason why they should have packed it in for the year they’ve become a solid ATS investment. Wizards have now covered 6 straight and 8 of their L10. They’ve even won 4 of 6 outright beating Orlando on the road and Denver at home in the process. Their YTD ATS breakdown isn’t anything impressive, but despite their many struggles throughout the season they’re 20-17 ATS as an underdog.
In addition to the tough situational spot for the Grizzlies having played and lost an emotionally draining game against the World Champion LA Lakers last night, they’ve struggled lately both SU and ATS. Grizz have won only 3 of their L12 games SU and have covered only 4 of their L12 games. Back to back spots in general have been a disaster for Memphis this season–they’re 5-8 ATS and only 2-11 SU. The straight up record is more problematic since they’ll have to get the win here to get the money. Throw in the emotional low they’ll have to be on following a loss in a game they’d thought they’d won and you’ve got a doubly tough situation.
Wizards have won 8 of the L12 head to head meetings with Memphis, and with the visitor in a tough scheduling spot off a draining loss we look for them to take the victory here.
