Short slate of NBA games tonight, but sports betting folks are offering a big college basketball card for March Madness betting. We’ll head out west, where Pac 10 conference play is heating up as California heads to Tempe to take on Arizona State. Cal is currently leading the conference, but with 5 teams tied for second a game behind its not exactly a comfortable perch for the Bears atop the standings.

Big revenge spot for the Bears after the were dominated in the last meeting with the Sun Devils. ASU led by Jeff Pendergraph ripped Cal by 17 points last season, but Pendergraph is now a reserve for the Portland Trailblazers in the NBA and the Sun Devils really haven’t replaced his overall game on the offensive end. Instead, they’ve become more of a jump shooting team that often looks out of sync offensively. Rihards Kuksiks leads ASU with 13.0 points per game, and Derek Glasser is option #2 with 10.4 PPG.
Cal, meanwhile, has four solid scoring options. Jerome Randle leads the team with 18.7 points per. Shooting guard Patrick Christopher has NBA written all over him and adds 16.3 PPG. Theo Robertson and Jamal Boykin also score in double digits for the Bears. Cal is an excellent rebounding team as well. Note that Cal is 0-4 as an underdog this year, but that should change in a venue where they’ve done well historically with 8 covers in their last 12 games in Tempe. Cal wins outright here as small priced dogs.
