Plenty of NHL betting action for sports betting today with a full slate of games. We’ll take a look at the Chicago Blackhawks as they head to Vancouver for a game against the Canucks. Hawks are in 2nd place both in the Western Conference and the overall NHL standings 2 points behind San Jose. Canucks are in fifth place, but only two points behind third place Colorado both in the Northwest Division and the overall conference standings.

After a couple of games where they’ve been frustrated by the defensively oriented tactics of Calgary and Edmonton, the Blackhawks should find an opponent willing to play a more wide open style as they take on the Vancouver Canucks. Blackhawks can thrive in a close checking game, but their preferred pace is end to end where they can better leverage their team speed and slick playmaking. Despite playing ‘Under’ in two straight they’ve gone ‘Over’ in 9 of their L15 and unlike many teams in the league are actually better when they open things up.
Canucks started the year struggling to score goals, but they also do well playing end to end hockey. Canucks have played a fair share of ‘Under’ games this year, but they win more games when they get away from close checking, possession oriented games and open up the offense. Unlike many teams in the league, Vancouver has the skill players to hang with the Blackhawks in this type of game. 4 of the last 7 meetings between the two teams at GM Place have gone ‘Over’ and we look for this one to do the same.
