NBA Basketball Betting Free Picks: Los Angeles @ Cleveland
Added on Jan 21, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
Only two games on the NBA basketball betting slate tonight, but one of them is a heavyweight encounter between LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. Sports betting sites will be filled with players supporting both sides, but we’re going to cast our support to the defending NBA champions in this crucial game. The Cavs and Lakers are currently neck and neck for the best record in the NBA, making this game even more significant:
Los Angeles Lakers at Cleveland Cavaliers
January 21, 5:05 PM Pacific
Despite Cleveland’s 15-3 SU record at home they’re only 6-12 ATS, as well as 15-22 ATS as a favorite. They’ve only covered 2 of their last 10 games. The Lakers, on the other hand, are only 5-10 ATS on the road and 1-3 as an underdog. They’ve destroyed the Eastern Conference this year despite a 6-6 ATS record winning 12 of 13 SU. Basically, these type of pointspread records come with being such a high profile ‘public’ team and aren’t surprising. They’re certainly not a reflection on any qualitative problems with either the Lakers or the Cavs.
Cleveland will play without starting pointguard Mo Williams here due to a sprained shoulder though backup Delonte West is a competent replacement. For the Lakers, Andrew Bynum had been struggling with an intestinal illness, but has been upgraded to ‘probable’ for this game as has Lamar Odom (finger). Lakers won both games between the two teams last year, but Cleveland routed the Lakers on Christmas Day in Los Angeles. We often suggest that ‘revenge’ is an overrated concept in the NBA, but not in the case of this matchup. Look for the hyper-competitive Kobe Bryant to take over this game himself if necessary. We expect the Lakers to win outright and getting a few points with them makes this an even more attractive play.
Bet Los Angeles Lakers +3 over Cleveland
