Week 16 Fantasy Football Picks
Added on Dec 21, 2012 by Scott in
Championship weekend is here. All that hard work and perseverance will pay off (literally) if you make the right lineup calls. An egregious blunder at this point will leave you steaming until next summer, as well as the target of ridicule from whomever wins the strap. Like last week, the best strategy is to stick to your studs, but if you’re struggling with certain positions, here are some suggestions.
Sam Bradford (@ TB) – Sammy is always a risky pick, but he did post one of the best games of his career last Sunday when he tossed for 377 yards and three touchdowns against the Vikings. This week he draws the hapless Bucs, who have lost four straight and boast the worst pass defense in the league. If you’ve been rotating signal-callers on a weekly basis, Bradford makes a serviceable option.
Vick Ballard (@ KC) – Ballard has been stout his last two starts, combining for 209 total yards. He rarely finds the end zone, but the Chiefs run defense is porous on a good day — Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson racked 199 yards in Week 15. If you need a decent flex option, the rookie runner should get the job done.
Reggie Bush (vs BUF) – This is a major roll of the dice for sure, because Bush continues to be one of fantasy football’s biggest teases. In his last matchup with the Bills, he netted 35 yards on 12 touches. That said, Buffalo just yielded 270 rushing yards to Seattle and rank 30th overall. Give Bush a look, if you’re the gambling type.
Kenny Britt (@ GB) – It’s been up and down for Britt this season. Some weeks he shows glimpses of the pre-knee surgery player who dominated. Other weeks he is completely invisible, like last Monday night against the Jets. The Packers have been quite forgiving to big wideouts recently. Now, Britt isn’t Megatron or Brandon Marshall, but he’s worth a shot.
Cecil Shorts (vs NE) – Believe it or not, Shorts is nearing 1000 yards on the season. The Pats secondary could very well oblige him. Listen, the Jags will behind in this one, meaning Chad Henne will be throwing early and often. Shorts is a big play waiting to happen. Use him if you got him.
Heath Miller (vs CIN) – Miller has been one of the most reliable tight ends in 2012. He’s right up there with Jimmy Graham and with Big Ben back under center, is a worthwhile starter to consider. He’s caught 17 balls and a pair of touchdowns in the last three weeks.
