Week 11 Fantasy Football Picks

We’re getting down to the wire of the 2012 fantasy football season. By now most owners know whether or not they have a roster capable of seizing fake glory. With the playoffs approaching, every win counts. Injuries and the last remaining bye will make for some tough lineup decisions. Big Ben and Michael Vick are out. Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and Chris Johnson are off. Here are some suggestions for those searching for answers.

Nick Foles (@ WAS) – Frustrated Eagles fans have been clamoring for rookie Foles to get his shot weeks ago. Well, now they get their wish, for better or worse. The Redskins are fully rested and eager to make a second half surge. On the other hand, the Birds are floundering through another lost season. The Redskins rank 30th versus the pass, so Foles will have chances to make plays downfield. If you’re desperate, he’s worth a start, especially if your league doesn’t penalize for turnovers.

Chris Ivory (@ OAK) – The biggest benefactor of the Darren Sproles injury has been Ivory. Inactive for the first eight weeks, the third-year runner has 17 carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns the last two games. Interim head coach Joe Vitt is handing the ball off much more than Aaron Kromer. Lest we forget, the Raiders were ripped for 251 yards by rookie Doug Martin two weeks ago. Ivory won’t come close to those numbers, but he makes a decent flex option.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis (@ KC) – Green-Ellis has been the definition of average in 2012. He’s yet to eclipse 100 rushing yards in any start, but he’s gained at least 50 yards in seven of nine games. The Chiefs defense isn’t as horrible as it seems. That said, the Law Firm is due for a breakout performance and KC is perilously close to throwing in the towel.

Rod Streater (vs NO) – No Darren McFadden. Playing against Drew Brees. Yeah, the Raiders will be chucking the rock all day long. Since Run DMC went down, Carson Palmer has thrown 106 passes. Darrius Heyward-Bey is nursing a bad hammy, so Streater could get more snaps in his absence. This is an boom or bust play, but it’s one that could pay big dividends.

T.Y. Hilton (@ NE) – The Patriots secondary stunk in 2011 and it stinks again this year. They rank 29th and will face the very hot Andrew Luck, who has 14 fewer yards than Golden Boy Brady. Like Streater, Hilton is a gamble. However, he’s prone to big plays and the Colts will need a lot of those to hang with the Pats.

Logan Paulsen (vs PHI) – The Eagles defense has been very forgiving as of late, especially against tight ends. Jimmy Graham and Jason Witten have combined for 16 receptions during the last two games. Paulsen has filled in nicely for Fred Davis and become RG III’s security receiver with at least four catches in three straight games.
