Week 8 Fantasy Football Picks

The good news is only four teams are on a bye this week. The bad news is Ray Rice, Arian Foster, A.J. Green, Andre Johnson and the entire Bills offense are kicking it on easy street. Toss in the usual slate of injured players and it will once again be a challenge to fill out starting lineups. So, if you’re frantically searching for suitable replacements, here are some names to consider.
Sam Bradford (vs. NE in London) – These across the pond games are always tricky simply because certain guys have trouble adjusting to the disruption in routine. Bradford has been anything but reliable thus far, but he should be able to exploit a weak Pats secondary that was shredded by Russell Wilson and Mark Sanchez in recent weeks.
Rashad Jennings (@ GB) – If you’re a Maurice Jones-Drew owner who was smart enough to draft Jennings and stash him away for the inevitable injury that always happens to disgruntled holdouts, congratulations. Now is the time your patience pays off. The Jags will probably be down early, so temper expectations for Jennings. But he should garner enough points to justify starting him.
Reggie Bush (vs. MIA) – Bush hasn’t been terrible in 2012, but he hasn’t been consistent either. In fact, if you remove his Week 2 172-yard, two touchdown effort against Oakland, he’s done next to nothing. However, a week off and a Jets run defense yielding 147 yards per game should be the perfect cure for what ails him.
Donnie Avery (@ TEN) – The Titans can’t stop anyone, and the Colts aren’t much better. This has the makings of another shootout. Avery is a reach play for sure, but he’s still getting targets in the passing game. All it takes is one big play and the Titans are very giving in the big play department.
Denarius Moore (@ KC) – Moore has scored in back to back weeks and appears to have separated himself as Carson Palmer’s favorite downfield threat. The Chiefs defense has allowed 35-plus points four times in six games. If you own a Raider get them in your lineup.
Joel Dreesen (vs. NO) – The tight end position has been dreadful in 2012. None of the big names are performing up to their draft status and guys like Heath Miller and Kyle Rudolph are ranked in the Top 10. Dreesen isn’t getting many targets, but Peyton loves looking for him in the red zone. If you’re scraping for a player, Dreesen is worth a shot.
