Brady Has Shoulder X Ray

New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady is having a record season and depending on whether or not Drew Brees plays this weekend could finish as the all time single season passing leader in NFL history. There are reports, however, that indicate that Brady has suffered an injury to his non throwing shoulder and was X rayed earlier this week to determine the severity of the ailment.
At this point it’s causing Brady ‘some discomfort’ but won’t keep him out of action. He missed practice on Wednesday but according to a team spokesperson that was due to ‘non injury related reasons’. Brady participated in Thursday’s practice on a limited basis but according to eyewitnesses did throw a few footballs.
So far the team has yet to confirm that Brady has an injury at all with one Patriot spokesperson dismissing reports by saying:
“If there was an injury then it would be on the injury report.”
Assuming that Brady is injured, it hasn’t impacted his play. After a slow start to the season he’s having a career year and is getting better as the schedule progresses. The Patriots have won seven straight games and Brady has been nearly perfect in that stretch throwing 16 TD passes against one interception. CBS NFL analyst Rich Gannon is impressed:
“A big part of that is Brady. He’s the maestro, the guy who makes it all go with his ability to change protections and get them in the right plays, the right runs, and handle the blitzes. He’s just so adept at that.”
Not surprisingly, one of Brady’s biggest supporters is Patriots’ coach Bill Belichick:
“He gets a lot of things thrown at him coverage-wise and pressure, and things like that. He does a good job of managing the game, he’s well prepared, and he’s able to perform well under pressure. We’ve seen him do it many times before, but he’s certainly done a good job of it this year.”
The Patriots host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and can clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs with a victory. New England is an 11 point NFL betting favorite in the contest with the total set at 46.
