When the NFL and their players finally reach a labor agreement teams will begin to put together their roster for the 2011 season. One name you shouldn’t expect to see on the roster of his 2010 team is Carson Palmer, who is reportedly threatening to retire unless he’s traded from the Cincinnati Bengals. Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco says that he doesn’t see any way that Palmer will be back in a Cincinnati uniform.

Ochocinco said that Palmer isn’t bluffing about retiring if he’s not traded:

“I know him really well. He will sit out, he will retire.”

Palmer reportedly has sold his Cincinnati area residence in Indian Hills, Ohio for $1.9 million.

Ochocinco isn’t sure he’ll be back in Cincinnati either but he’s definitely going to be playing somewhere:

“There’s no such thing as the end for me. Whether I’m in Cincinnati or whether I’m on one of the other 31 teams, I’m going to make it happen. They say the grass is not greener on the other side, but let me tell you, when I’m watering the grass it’s going to be green.”

He also said that he doesn’t expect the 2011 NFL regular season to start on time:

“I think it’s coming back. I don’t think it’s starting on time … no matter what you are reading. No way.”

Ochocinco hasn’t talked to Terrell Owens this summer, but isn’t surprised that ‘T.O.’ wants to keep playing despite his age and injuries:

“Age is really not a factor when it comes to Terrell. He’s a freakish athlete, man.”

Ochocinco was in Atlanta where he took a ride at Atlanta Motor Speedway with NASCAR driver Jeff Burton. According to Burton, Ochocinco has no fear:

“You can’t scare him. The man has ridden a bull. He runs routes across the middle of the field. He wants to wrestle an alligator. How do you scare an athlete like that?”

Added Ochocinco:

“I’m willing to try everything once before I die. If I get hurt, if I lose an arm, I’ll be fine. I can just be the kicker for the Bengals.”

Whether with the Bengals or another NFL team, expect to see Chad Ochocinco front and center when the pro football season begins.
