NBA Betting: Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder

NBA betting action on Wednesday night as the Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder battle for the right to take on the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. The series is tied at two games apiece after OKC outlasted Memphis in a triple overtime contest in Game 4.

This series heads back to Oklahoma City tied at 2-2 and this gives us the chance to use the Grizzlies who are in several very profitable ATS situations. Memphis was a great pointspread team overall this season posting a 59-32 ATS mark and was money in the bank when getting points–as an underdog the Grizz went 30-13 ATS. They were also great off a SU loss as a favorite going 10-2 ATS and was 31-12 ATS in revenge spots. Coming off a loss of 10+ points Memphis was 9-2 ATS. Head to head play has been very even–since 2008 OKC is 8-7 SU/9-6 ATS overall and 4-3 SU/ATS at home.

There’s been some downward movement in the total–likely due to the perception that the players will be fatigued after the triple OT game. That may be the case, but there’s no guarantee it’ll manifest itself in the form of less offensive productivity. These teams aren’t particularly good on the defensive end of the floor anyway, so there’s every reason to think that assuming there is a fatigue issue it’ll result in less intensity on defense. Based on the head to head results between OKC and Memphis its really hard to play the Under–11 of the last 15 meetings have gone Over the total including 7 straight on the Thunder’s home court. OKC was one of the strongest Over plays in the league this year and we sure haven’t seen anything to suggest that they’re all of a sudden going to focus on defense. The Grizzlies are a better defensive team, but we expect the form that we’ve seen so far in this series–and in head to head play in recent years–to continue. We look for Memphis to even the series with an outright win which makes the points a very attractive play and we also look for this one to go Over the total.
