Joe Stevenson To Make His Featherweight Debut
Joe Stevenson has hit a rough patch as he has lost his last three outings in the UFC. In a shocking turn of events, he has announced he will be making his featherweight debut. This is a guy who has told me he will most likely end up at welterweight someday! I have no idea how he plans to cut that much weight, but with that weight cut he will have his hands full. Stevenson, a former No. 1 lightweight contender, is 31-13 overall after the rough stretch.
His opponent will be Javier Vasquez, who was last defeated by Chad Mendez. Prior tot hat, Vasquez was riding a two fight win streak in the WEC. Vazquez (15-5) has 11 of his wins by submission, including his most recent, an August 2010 rear naked choke victory over Mackens Semerzier at WEC 50.
The fight is expected to happen at UFC On Versus 4 which will most likely take place on June 26 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
Wanderlei Silva Vs Chris Leben
According to UFC.com Wanderlei Silva Vs Chris Leben has been added to the UFC 132 Card in Las Vegas on July 2. There was a lot of speculation as to what Silva’s come back fight would be, as he recently had hip surgery. At one point many thought it would Vitor Belfort, or even Brian Stann, but those matches never came to fruition. Instead the two strikers will face off on an already stacked card.

Court McGee Out Of UFC 131
Sources close to Court McGee’s camp are now saying a knee injury will prevent him from fighting Jesse Bongfeldt at UFC 131. The report as of right now, the UFC has made nothing official yet, is that the The Ultimate Fighter winner tore his ACL while training for the fight. As of right now no replacement has been made. UFC 131 takes place June 11 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and features a heavyweight headliner between former champ Brock Lesnar and challenger Junior Dos Santos, who also serve as coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 13.”
