Plenty of basketball action on Saturday’s sports betting docket and we’ll start our handicapping coverage in the NBA where the Chicago Bulls will travel to New Orleans to face the Hornets. The Hornets have slipped since their solid start to the season while the Bulls have been playing excellent basketball all year and have one of the best records in the NBA.
Chicago Bulls at New Orleans Hornets

Brutal scheduling spot for the Hornets who will be coming off a hard fought victory against the Magic at Orlando just 24 hours earlier. Chicago, meanwhile, has been idle since Wednesday’s night at Utah. The Hornets may have won last night, but they’ve not been in good form lately losing 6 of their last 8 going 1-7 ATS. The win/cover against the Magic broke a 7 game losing streak against the spread. New Orleans has performed well against the NBA lines as an underdog (16-7 ATS on the year) and they’ve done well against the Eastern Conference (15-7 ATS) but more recently they’ve covered only 4 of their last 14 games.
Chicago, meanwhile, continues to tear things up. They’ve won 7 of 10 SU and are currently on a 10-5-1 ATS run. The Bulls have dominated the Eastern Conference this year going 15-7 SU/ATS. They’re also playing some of the best defense in the league, ranking #2 in points against and opponent FG percentage. With the Hornets banged up in the front court, Chicago should dominate in the paint even with Joakim Noah still sidelined (he’s expected back immediately after the All Star break. Given the scheduling spot we’ll gladly take a defensively tenacious and rested Bulls team in much better form.
Bet Chicago Bulls -2′ over New Orleans Hornets
