Added on Feb 08, 2011 by Jack Thurman in
NBA betting action heats up on Wednesday night as the Orlando Magic head to the northeast to take on the Philadelphia 76ers. Orlando and Atlanta are fighting it out for 2nd place in the Southeast as Miami has pulled away for now atop the division. Philadelphia is still on the wrong side of .500 but are much approved from last season and are currently in 3rd place in the Atlantic Division.

Magic are off a win at home against the LA Clippers on Tuesday night, but this is a potential ambush spot for Orlando. They haven’t been in particularly good form of late with a 4-5 record in their last 9 games, while head coach Doug Collins has the 76ers playing well and in contention most every night they take the floor. Sixers coming off a 24 point win at Atlanta on Tuesday and return to their home court where they’ve been very strong this year. Philly is 16-8 SU/15-9 ATS at home and have gone 11-2 ATS against the Southeast Division this year.
Orlando is just an adequate road team SU with a 14-13 record are are 10-16 ATS away from home. Perhaps the most glaring ATS statistic is their performance as a road favorite of less than 3 points where the Magic are 1-6 SU/ATS on the year. Sixers, meanwhile, are 4-0 SU/ATS as a corresponding home underdog. They’ve given a lot of teams fits this year with a 16-6 ATS mark against teams with winning records and the Magic could be excused if they’ve seen enough of the Sixers this year–Philadelphia has already beaten Orlando once at home and gave the Magic all they could handle on the road on 1/19 before losing by 1 point. Sixers enter this game on a 8-3 ATS run and we’ll call for them to pull the outright upset over the Magic.
Bet Philadelphia 76ers +2 over Orlando Magic
