NBA Betting Odds: Sacramento Kings at Detroit Pistons
Added on Jan 15, 2011 by Jack Thurman in
Another non-conference matchup on Saturday NBA betting as the Sacramento Kings head to Detroit to take on the Pistons. Both teams played–and won–last night but that notwithstanding neither is in particularly good form at the moment. Pistons are the #11 team in the East while Sacto has the worst record in the Western Conference.

The Pistons haven’t been much this season in terms of wins and losses but they have been a profitable team for basketball bettors. They’ve had a couple of downturns, but they’re 11-7 ATS at home and are off a win/cover at Toronto. Detroit is 9-5 ATS in their last 14 games overall. Sacramento is still an awful team but are in the midst of one of their best ATS runs of the season covering 6 of their last 9 games. They’re off an upset win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden and for our purposes that sets up this play nicely. The Kings aren’t a team that has dealt well with success–they haven’t won back to back games since the first week of the season. They’re also 2-6 ATS this year after a straight up win.
Sacramento hasn’t fared very well against opponents with losing records who, counterintuitively, are more likely to take them seriously than better teams. Kings are 4-14 SU/6-11-1 ATS against opponents with losing records. Detroit has won and covered both spots in this price range this season (2-0 as a home favorite of -3′ to -6 points) and we don’t like the Kings coming off what is arguably their biggest win of the season so far.
Bet Detroit Pistons -5 over Sacramento Kings
