Ron Wilson Expecting Fine

ESPN is reporting that Toronto Maple Leafs Coach Ron Wilson will be fined. In short, Wilson was said to put “money on the board” in San Jose at their last game. Players sometimes do this to encourage each other to play harder or better. For instance, If there is a player who is close to a team or personal goal, another player might put money on the board. If the player hits the mark, or acomplishes the gaol, he would get the money.

This is not a problem if its the players, but when a coach does it its frowned upon. Wilson picked up his 600th win as an NHL coach, and he happened to get the win against his former team the San Jose Sharks. Before the game, he reportedly put money on the board for his players to get the win. The leafs won the game 4-2.

The NHL says this is against the rules, and Wilson should not have done it. According to league officials, Wilson “will be dealt with.” Now, even a source from the Maple Leafs is confirming that they are expecting a fine from the NHL brass.

The lost to the Phoenix Coyotes 5-1 on Thursday night, and below are the highlights:

During the second period of the Vancouver Canucks’ game at the New York Rangers on Thursday night, Alex Burrows and Marc Staal jostled in front of the New York goal. Staal gave Burrows a slash on the leg; Burrows offered a calm and measured response, which was to give Staal a groin shot with his stick that sent him crumbling to the ice. Many are calling for actions against Burrows. The Rangers went on to win the game 1-0.

Elizabeth Hughes Sings National Anthem With Help From Hockey Fans
Check this video out of Elizabeth Hughes, who is 8 years old, and one heck of a singer. She was invited to sing the national anthem at a Norfolk Admirals game at the Scope Arena. Things went wrong for Hughes, when her mic gave out toward the end of the song. The crowd almost immediately all jumped in to help her out to finish the song. The good news is she was invited back to sign again. (Note:I was sent this video earlier, and it had 200k hits, and at the time I posted this it was well over 1 million.)
