NBA Betting Odds: Orlando Magic at Cleveland Cavaliers
Added on Dec 28, 2010 by Jack Thurman in
The Orlando Magic are finally starting to gel after their recent trade and enter tonight’s game in Cleveland on a three game winning streak. The Cavs are a shell of their former selves without LeBron James and are trying to avoid having the worst record in the Eastern Conference. Currently they’re one game ahead of the cellar dwelling Washington Wizards.

Cleveland is a mess and they sure don’t look to be going anywhere fast. They’ve lost 3 straight, 9 of their last 10 and 17 of their last 20. They’ve only covered 6 of their last 20 games. That being said, they’re not completely lacking in talent with Antawn Jameson and Mo Williams. Tricky spot for Orlando–they’re off an easy win at New Jersey last night and have a much more significant game against the improving New York Knicks at home on Thursday night. They could be caught looking past a team that they’ve beaten 9 of the last 14 times going 11-3 against the spread.
Cleveland just missed getting the money in the previous meeting between the Cavs and Magic this year, losing by 11 as +10′ point underdogs. The Magic won and covered last night but have been a horrible investment away from home this year–even with last night’s ATS cover they’re just 8-7 SU/4-11 against the spread on the road. They’ve also failed to cover in two of three spots at this price range (-6′ to -8) this year. Overall the Magic are just 11-15 ATS as a favorite and 6-8 ATS against teams with losing records. There’s not much to like about Cleveland, but this sure looks like a spot where the Magic could come out flat and at least let the home team stay within the number.
Bet Cleveland Cavaliers +8 over Orlando Magic
