Here is a quick rundown on a few things that are in the news so far this week.

Scott Coker told Tapout Radio, Fedor will be fighting in the first quarter of 2011, and further he says the opponent will be huge and the announcement is “grand.” Fedor is coming off of his first real loss to Febricio Werdum, and it will be interesting to see how reacts to that fight.

After being at the Arnolds Awards in Ohio for the last few years, the UFC has elected not to attend this year, but Strikeforce is now stating they are aiming for a card on March 5, 2011. All I am trying to say is, That is in the first quarter.

Mart Kampman Vs Diego Sanchez, yes at 170 pounds, will be the headlining fight at UFC on Versus 3. The event is scheduled to take place on March 3, and the location hasn’t been determined yet. It sounds like Diego is going to stick around at Welterweight, and the winner would definitely be in the title picture as a number 2 or 3 contender. Also on UFC on Versus, Mark Munoz will face off against C.B. Dollaway in a middleweight fight. Munoz just beat Aaron Simpson at UFC 123 via Unanimous Decision, and Dollaway is coming off a win to Joe Doerkson via submission in the first round.

Georges St. Pierre has done some commercials for ESPN in the run up for his fight Saturday. He can be seen showing the mascots how to choke each other out, and throw superman punches. This is why his manager is the best in business in my opinion:

Ceaser Gracie, Nick Diaz’s manager, has been saying they are going to skip fighting Jason Mayhem Miller, because Miller will not accept the terms of the fight. There is a 3 pound discrepancy depending on who you ask, and they can not agree on the weight. Gracie is saying Diaz wants to fight Paul Daley next. Daley is of coming off of a first round KO of Scott Smith that sent Smith face first to the cage floor.

As reported here on Sportsbettingworld.com a few weeks back, The UFC will be headed to Brazil. The UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta and President Dana White have scheduled a press conference for next Wednesday, December 15th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to announce the Octagon’s first event in the city. This is the first time in more then ten years the Octagon has been to Brazil. UFC champions Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Anderson Silva and Jose Aldo will be there. UFC Hall of Famer Royce Gracie is scheduled to be there as well as contender Vitor Belfort. The Mayor Eduardo Paes is expected to be there as well at the Palacio da Cidade in Rio.
