Fantasy Football: Sit ‘Em Week 13

Quarterback
Carson Palmer, Cincinnati Bengals
This week the lowly Cincinnati Bengals will be going up against the defending Super Bowl champions New Orleans Saints and even though the champs defense hasn’t been all that good this season compared to last year, they have started to come on strong as of late and should contain Carson Palmer and the potent Bengals offense this weekend.
Running Back
BenJarvus Green-Ellis, New England Patriots
This Monday night we will be witness to perhaps the game of the year as the 9-2 New England Patriots will be defending their home field against the 9-2 New York Jets, but even though the Patriots offense is amongst the best in the league and can light up the scoreboard, they will be going up against arguably the best defense in the NFL in the Jets.
Not only will the Jets defense look to put the brakes on the Patriots offense, but they will almost certainly contain New England’s running game and running back Green-Ellis.
Wide Receiver
Michael Crabtree, San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers might be coming off an impressive win of the division rival Arizona Cardinals and still have a slight chance of winning the NFC West division title at season’s end, but they will have their work cut out for them in Week 13 against the lockdown defense of the Green Bay Packers.
With that being said, I believe that it wouldn’t be a wise decision to start wide receiver Michael Crabtree this weekend as the 49ers passing will almost certainly be shutdown.
Tight End
Zach Miller, Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders have played really well at times this season and still have an opportunity to contend for the AFC West division title, but in Week 13 they will be going up against a red-hot San Diego Chargers who have arguably one of the best defenses in the NFL right now.
With the quarterback position being in serious question in Oakland, sitting tight end Zach Miller would be wise.
Defense
Oakland Raiders
Along with having one of the best defenses in the NFL, the San Diego Chargers have an extremely potent offense with NFL MVP candidate quarterback Philip Rivers under center.
With that being said, I believe the Oakland Raiders defense will be in for a long day this weekend.
